Manufacturing engineers at Kohler’s faucet division wanted to receive machine and test fixtures on the job shop floor faster and at a lower cost. Their current parts were expensive and lead times took 2-3 weeks.
Solution
Lattice Design Printed with HP 4200
3D Parts Unlimited implemented a lattice design on their fixture designs to reduce costs while maintaining part strength. The parts were then printed on the HP 4200 using Glass-Filled Nylon material.

With the new latticed fixture design Kohler saved $325.00/fixture and reduced their lead time from 2-3 weeks to two days from release of their PO. Kohler is now implementing these 3D latticed fixtures on their job shop floor.
