Custom Prosthetic Leg Covering with Reduced Cost
The challenge was to create a custom prosthetic leg covering that would cost less than what’s available in today’s market. It also had to have comparable strength and durability of current leg coverings.
Solution
MJF and SLS
Leveraging the Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) printer we were able to establish accurate dimensions. Once the prototyping phase was complete, we printed on the EOS Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) to produce the end-use parts.
Results
Cost Savings
Typically prosthetic leg covers can be quite expensive. We were able to design a base part that could be easily customized, and print at a lower cost.
