Challenge
Model Furniture for Sales Personnel
KI needed scaled models of all their furniture to allow sales personnel to travel and represent their product. They have many unique products and making a mold for every piece was very expensive. KI needed to find a way to scale all their furniture without breaking the bank. The model furniture also had to have high resolution and be made out of a durable plastic.
Solution
3D Printing HP 4200
The solution was to take every scaled 3D model and 3D print it. We leveraged the the HP 4200 machine to print the scaled furniture. The speed of printing, selected end use material, and high resolution quality produced the perfect solution. The scaled models accurately depicted the quality and selection of KI’s furniture.

Unforeseen Benefits
Potential customers could now hold KI’s furniture in their hands, allowing them to better understand the quality of the furniture, as well as envision the proposed furnished space.
Giving potential customers the opportunity to hold KI furniture in their hands before making purchasing decisions was a huge advantage for KI and their potential customers. Plus, once that purchase was made customers’ satisfaction and acceptance rates were higher.
Now, KI is looking to provide more prototyping applications in the future.
